Terms of use

By using this site you agree to the following, written in plain language.

Provided as is

The hike time calculator and articles are offered free and "as is" for general information. We work to make the results correct, but we give no warranty that they are error-free or suitable for any particular purpose.

Outdoor activities are risky

Walking and climbing in the outdoors involves risk of injury and death. Estimates of time, sunset and turnaround are rules of thumb and may be wrong for your route, fitness and conditions. The site does not monitor you and cannot raise an alarm. You are responsible for your own planning, navigation, equipment, weather checks and decisions. Always follow local advice and the instructions of mountain and rescue services.

No liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss, injury or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, this site.

Acceptable use

Don't attempt to disrupt the site, misrepresent it as your own, or use it unlawfully.

Changes

We may update these terms or the tool at any time. Continued use means you accept the current terms. Questions can go to the contact page.
